5 reasons staycations are here to – well, stay!

From visiting some of the world’s top attractions, to relaxing in your own private hot tub, here are just 5 reasons why scrapping going abroad this year could be a great idea!

1. Save your time

Between demanding work schedules, social commitments and the world being as fast paced as it is, we all seem to have less and less time these days.  The beauty of keeping your travels within the UK and staying somewhere local(ish), whilst also removing flights and long travel times from the budget, means you could not only save yourself some change, but also a lot of time!

2. Save the hassle

Between getting the time off of work, booking flights, worrying over how heavy your bag is, dealing with the chaos of the airport and spending hours in transit – then add on top of that the differing rules for each country now – the stress of travel can sometimes almost defeat the purpose of a holiday.  Going on a staycation, you’ve got more time to just relax.  Wander around the Cornish Countryside, leave your problems back at home – and allow yourself to enjoy your time away from the get go!

3. Discover your country

Cornwall is simply brimming with incredible attractions waiting for you to enjoy, such as the Eden Project (only 20 minutes from Meadow Lakes) and the world famous Lost Gardens of Heligan.  There’s restaurants to try, destinations to see, beaches to explore, boutique shops to discover, coastal trails to conquer… Instead of leaving them unexplored, a staycation allows you to invest in your own country and discover things you never knew were right on your doorstep.

4. Quality time together

Get yourself and the kids off their phones, watch a film in bed together, nap, jump in the pool, take a walk, explore your surroundings, read a great book in the hot tub… A staycation in the countryside is an excuse to recharge your batteries without feeling guilty about it.  It’s also a great time to explore that hobby you never seem to have time for, or simply to just indulge in eating and drinking, why not!  Cornish cuisine is some of the freshest and tastiest in the world, so make the most of your time here and try some of the local delicacies!  Check out our post on our favourite and most famous Cornish dishes.

5. You can go right now!

Sometimes when you need a holiday, you need it now! The beauty of a staycation is that when you decide you need a break, you can actually take it just hours later, if you really want to!
