There’re so many dog-friendly attractions, beaches and pubs in Cornwall to enjoy with your pooch. Some of our favourite ones are highlighted below, which we hope will become your new favourites too, all within easy reach of the park!
The Lost Gardens of Heligan
One of the most famous gardens in the United Kingdom, The Lost Gardens of Heligan can be found in Pentewan, near Mevagissey – just a 10 minute drive from the park. The gardens are a characterful, colourful and eclectic place, which take you on a journey from Cornwall, to a magical, botanical world…
Lappa Valley
If you’re looking for something more active that’s also great for kids, it’s high time that you hop on one of the steam trains to Lappa Valley! Only 30 minutes from park, you can enjoy a fun, family and doggo friendly day out at this wonderful park, which is full of activities such as railways, canoeing and crazy golf. By paying an extra £1, you can go with your pooch, take them out on canoes, give then a ride on the steam train or just simply enjoy a walk around the beautiful landscape!
Healeys Cyder Farm
36 minutes away you’ll find Healey’s Cyder Farm. This is a trip for the whole family, even though the spotlight is on cyder! Enjoy beautiful outdoor spaces, including the orchards, where well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome. However, please be mindful of the farm animals and free-roaming peacocks.
The Cornish Seal Sanctuary
Further afield but certainly worth a day out, is one of Cornwall’s most popular tourist spots – the Cornish Seal Sanctuary in Gweek. It’s a fantastic place for a family day out, where you can meet adorable seals and other sea creatures, many of which have been rescued by the sanctuary! The Seal Sanctuary plays a vital role in animal conservation, making it an educational and enjoyable experience for both kids and adults to learn more about the environment. Plus, many areas of the sanctuary are dog-friendly, so bring your furry friend along to explore Cornwall’s marine life!
