The David Bellamy Pledge for Nature 2024 - Meadow Lakes

The David Bellamy Pledge for Nature 2024

We are delighted to be participating in the ‘David Bellamy Blooming Marvellous Pledge for Nature 2024’!  Taking the pledge demonstrates our commitment to help cultivate Cornish nature, helping it bloom & flourish around the park.

So, what steps are we taking?

In bloom all season long

We’re sprucing things up with more beautiful wildflower plantings in our meadows, and other planting initiatives, to not only make the park even more stunning, but to encourage insects and bees.  Bees pollinate our wild trees and wild flowers, which then support other insects, which then support birds, bats, mammals and everything up the food chain with food and shelter, so they are incredibly important for our eco-system!

Our New Woodland Walk!

We are excited to introduce the addition of our new Woodland Walk to Meadow Lakes! This is a scenic walking route for staying guests (including dogs), that meanders through the picturesque woodland, at the north of the park. Keep an eye out for a variety of wildlife, a little bridge over a gently flowing river, and educational signs, so you can learn more about all the local flora & fauna that thrives here on park!  Please check out our park map, or pop into reception for directions and one of the team will be happy to show you.

Our fabulous fishing Lakes

We’re also in the process of enhancing our four beautiful fishing lakes, with 850 meters of Otter fencing to protect the fish, new fishing platforms, and bank protection management in Kingfisher and Heron Lakes. Plus, we’re welcoming several 20lb Carps to Oak Lake too, to make your fishing holiday or day visit with us even better!

Local wildlife in action!

As well as our new educational signs, you’ll be able to spot our new bird and bat boxes dotted around the park, and best of all – our amazing brand new wildlife cameras, to capture our local wildlife in action!  We can’t wait to share the footage with you, offering a glimpse into the diverse wildlife that thrives here at Meadow Lakes.  Make sure you’re following us on our Instagram & Facebook pages to be kept up to date with all of these exciting developments!
